Meet Storyteller Sista' Martha

Have you discovered the joy and value of storytelling?

Don't miss out on this engaging experience with Sista’ Martha Ruff who has delighted children and adults with stories, poetry and folksongs that entertain and enlighten. The audience could be families in a library, adults visiting a museum or a community group at a holiday gathering.  Sista’ Martha comes on the stage with a shakere and a song as she involves the listeners in African trickster tales, African American legends or the singing stories of the Caribbean.

When the stories are over, the fun continues with Sista’ Martha’s resource list of activities for teachers and families.

Organizations will want to invite Martha as a conference speaker or workshop leader.  She presents sessions on using storytelling in the classroom, improving reading skills with storytelling and using journals in storytelling.
